plant & equipment
Hygiene has the capability and resource to carry out the cleaning of production plant and equipment based on our extensive and exclusive experiences of the food manufacturing industry.
Plant cleaning can be carried out to suit your requirements, be it at the end of weekly run, or periodic deep cleaning programmes. The frequency for carrying out the cleaning of individual equipment will depend upon the design of your plant, the production usage and the micro-biological and pest control needs. Schedules of work are documented using a matrix chart to allow forward planning and the most productive use of downtime for cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Employees carrying out the work are trained in the correct procedures for individual items of plant and equipment, with special regard for safety, product contamination, engineering and production issues.
Specific working procedures are written for each item of plant, detailing methods of cleaning, equipment and material required and key inspection points. Records of cleaning are maintained with any plant defects or infestations reported.
A key requirement for contracting out this service is safety and, in particular, plant isolation. Hygiene liaises with both engineering and safety management to design and implement a safe system of work.
Benefits of a structured plant deep clean programme in conjunction with an engineering strip down are:
reduced product contamination risk
removal of debris build-up which affects the running of the plant (rollers, belt tracking etc)
breaking the lifecycle of SPI and other pests
early report of potential engineering problems with equipment
