audit
Hygiene Group audit services measure your site against the increasingly high standards being set by your industry, retailers and constantly changing legislation. It is constantly developing and keeping pace with standards and trends in the food industry, simplifying the management of food safety and hygiene at your site. Hygiene auditors specialise in distinct areas of food safety – including methodology, chemical usage, documentation, safety and pest control. We can provide you with a comprehensive report for your site, based on industry best practice and recognised by major audit bodies.

maximiser
Maximiser is Hygiene’s electronic auditing system that uses a touch screen PDA to:

prioritise and schedule work to be completed over a year

record work as completed and by whom, and reschedule if appropriate

audit the work completed using a traffic light audit method

validate the above with digital signatures

Once downloaded to a PC, Hygiene can use bespoke software to:

print reports and graphs for trend analysis

print sign-off sheets for final closure by client production/technical managers where appropriate

consolidate for long term analysis

The handheld unit can be programmed with every item we are responsible for cleaning along with its cleaning frequency. We have the option to:

Check off and audit – only items scheduled for cleaning on a particular week will be displayed; teams are assigned to each task and signed-off as complete – or rescheduled to a later date. Any rescheduled tasks will subsequently appear in the appropriate week. All items are prioritised with respect to
food safety:

priority 1: Essential for production to start hence cannot be rescheduled
priority 2: Can be rescheduled only with client’s permission
priority 3: Can be rescheduled by Hygiene

benefits of maximiser
SPEED – Maximiser is designed as a natural evolution to our current paper-hungry quality systems and as such meets all current requirements - but with the added benefit of speed. Carried in a protective cover that clips to a belt we have effectively replaced clipboards, pens and paper with a compact but powerful handheld computer. Operating with a user-friendly Windows-based interface our managers simply select the locations from menus and the appropriate response from pre-defined options. We can now perform the same check-offs and audits, transfer of data and report production in a faction of the time – allowing us more time to focus on our core duties.

versatility/potential – We have created a powerful system that can be applied to any aspect of our responsibilities on your site. Anything that can be listed and assessed can be loaded onto Maximiser; whether it is applied to cleaning, pest control or asset management.

accessibility – Our quality systems once resided in manuals and now they exist in a handheld unit small enough to be carried permanently on a belt – affording both you and our managers with continuous and instant access. We can now perform an audit at any time in any location in the factory.

rapid hygiene testing
Rapid hygiene test systems measure organic matter by detecting the presence of adenosine triphosphate or ATP, the energy carrier found in all living cells. Any biological material left on the surface such as food debris or microbes can be detected in this way. Not only does the system detect contamination by microorganisms but also residues that could act as a breeding ground for microbes.

Our simple-to-use device enables swab tests taken from Critical Control Points and evaluated in less than one minute. Producing data instantly at the point of measurement means that issues can be handled without delay. Areas requiring further cleaning are re-cleaned and immediately checked again so that the area can be ‘positively released’ before moving on to the next. The results database that we accumulate over time will exist as a permanent register of our cleaning performance.

Using Rapid Hygiene Testing as part of our service, we ensure that the requirements of both HACCP and the Food Act 1990 are integral elements of our service
